World of Warcraft now features the Trading Post, offering a rotating catalog of cosmetic rewards like transmogs, pets, and mounts as part of past promotional and in-game store items.
Players can access the Trading Post by completing an introductory quest, which begins automatically upon reaching Stormwind or Orgrimmar. When finished, Trader’s Tender becomes an account-wide currency that can be spent at the Trading Post.
World of Warcraft players may have recently noticed the addition of Trading Post locations. This feature offers players a great new way to acquire cosmetic items. A brand-new currency known as Trader’s Tender can also be used at these posts; one can be found near Mage Quarter in Stormwind and one outside Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar; each offers its selection of goods.
World of Warcraft streamers have long wondered about those mysterious stable-like structures seen throughout Stormwind City and Orgrimmar City, seemingly out of nowhere. Now it has been revealed: these stables are Trading Posts, an exciting new feature that provides players with another route to cosmetic items! Each month players can participate in activities that offer monthly reward programs such as dungeons, battlegrounds, holiday events, or Mythic+ dungeons to earn items such as transmog items, pet companions, or mounts.
At the Trading Post, it’s nice that its inventory isn’t tied directly to content, so items available will change monthly. If an item doesn’t interest you right now, freeze it until later; this way, you won’t waste your hard-earned Tender on something you may no longer be interested in purchasing.
Unfortunately, the Trading Post’s inventory has had its share of glitches and errors. For example, its first stock included some Medivh-inspired pieces which were unwearable due to an issue. While this issue was eventually rectified, these items were promptly taken off sale before any further problems arose.
As Blizzard continues to adapt the Trading Post, player feedback is welcome. A recent forum post from one of their developers assured players that it is constantly shifting, so don’t fret over missing an item, as they will come back eventually.
Alliance players can visit Stormwind’s Mage District near The Stockades Dungeon to access the Trading Post; Horde players should head to Orgrimmar near Valley of Strength for access. Both factions can utilize it and receive various rewards such as mounts, pets, vanity gear, and weapon items; unlike cash shops, however, items available here rotate out each month, so if something catches your eye but you cannot afford it right now, you can permanently save it and purchase later.
World of Warcraft’s Trading Post is an exciting in-game feature that rewards players with cosmetic transmogs, pets, and mounts. Players can purchase these rewards with Trader’s Tender (an account-wide currency), earned through visiting the Trading Post each month and completing activities from Traveler’s Log.
Fans were initially concerned that Blizzard might turn the Trading Post into a microtransaction store with items available for purchase with real-world money; however, World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazzikostas quickly reassured fans that it remained solely a cosmetic feature and not an item shop.
Visit the Trading Post on any character you own, but you must fulfill specific criteria. First, you’ll need to be level 10 or higher; secondly, complete the introductory Trading Post quest that appears when arriving in Stormwind or Orgrimmar; this will earn 500 Trader’s Tenders that can be claimed from Collector’s Cache as your reward.
Once you have the currency, head to your faction’s Trading Post location to browse its inventory. Alliance players can locate this hub of commerce in Stormwind’s Mage District outside Stockades Dungeon; Horde players should visit Orgrimmar’s Zen’Shiri Trading Post for even closer proximity to Grommash Hold.
Each month, the Trading Post offers 15 new items to purchase. However, unlike Auction House items, these won’t remain permanent and will rotate out gradually. If you don’t have enough Trader’s Tender for an item at once, freeze it until another time when it becomes available for sale – giving yourself extra time to secure some of those more desirable ones before they disappear from existence altogether!
Once players reach level 10, a quest entitled Tour the Trading Post will appear that introduces it. Players are instructed to find its new location within their faction’s capital city: Alliance will find it near Mage District, while Horde will have theirs close by Grommash Hold.
The Trading Post offers an abundance of items for sale. However, players should remember that its currency – Trader’s Tender – does not correspond to gold but can be earned monthly by completing quests. Various cosmetic items, including mounts, pets, and companions, may be exchanged with it.
The Trading Post will become accessible in patch 10.0.5, featuring two posts for both factions in their capital cities. Alliance players will access T&W Trading Post, while Horde will gain Zen’Shiri Trading Post; both positions will be located near Stockades Dungeon in Stormwind and Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar, respectively; these posts won’t be accessible via World of Warcraft Classic or Wrath of the Lich King Classic however.
