Pokemon GO Trading – What You Need to Know

Trading is one of the newest features to come to Pokemon GO, yet players should keep some considerations in mind before beginning trading activities.

First and foremost, trading doesn’t come free. Each trade costs Stardust (an in-game currency you receive by completing raids and gym battles).

1. Distance Requirement

Pokemon GO trades require that both players be within a certain distance from one another – known as a trade limit – when making trades. This feature helps prevent people from trading Pokemon for real money or cheating using Niantic’s terms of service while encouraging social interactions among players and exploring local neighborhoods while playing the game.

Pokemon GO offers a maximum trade distance of 100 meters. While this may seem short-sighted, this distance discourages people from trading rare or hard-to-find Pokemon. However, special events sometimes increase this maximum. On Thursday, 12 November, trainers could trade Pokemon up to 12 kilometers from one another!

Both must be on each other’s Friends lists to facilitate trades between players and fall within the trade limit. To achieve this, tap and swipe toward their Friends list from the app’s main screen before selecting their desired partner to trade with and selecting “Trade” from the menu. Both parties then must agree on which Pokemon to swap before finalizing and confirming it by tapping ‘Confirm Trade” on both screens.

Some particular Pokemon are only tradeable with players who have reached certain levels in the game or belong to specific groups, making these harder-to-find Pokemon an enjoyable challenge for players.

Increased trade distance in Pokemon Go can open up new possibilities for players. There are various means by which this can be accomplished, including GPS spoofing. But it is essential to remember that any illegal or dishonest behavior may lead to a ban, so it is best to abide by all game rules when increasing trade distance – one way being with UltFone iOS Location Changer, which instantly alters your iPhone’s current location.

2. Stardust Requirement

Trading is one of the key new features in Pokemon Go, enabling Trainers to fill their Pokedex by swapping creatures with other players – an essential method for capturing every legendary Pokemon! Unfortunately, not all trades are equal, and some require considerably more Stardust (the in-game currency) than others to complete successfully.

A trade requires various amounts of Stardust depending on both the Pokemon being traded and the trainers involved in the transaction. Typically speaking, higher friendship levels between traders reduce Stardust’s needs; Niantic Labs implemented this feature to prevent distorting in-game economies from being altered and encourage backstreet meetings.

Great Friends trainers only require 80 Stardust each to trade Legendary Pokemon between themselves; this compares favorably with the 1 Million Stardust required for dealing high-level legendary creatures between those at Good Friend level only.

There are exceptions, however. If a trainer reaches Great Friends level with another Trainer, but they have yet to exchange gifts, they will need 160,000 Stardust as the player is effectively lending out one of their Pokemon for trading purposes.

Apart from these factors, other aspects may also alter the Stardust required for trading. For instance, after being transferred, the HP and CP of traded Pokemon will change accordingly to prevent players from “re-rolling their stats through trade” over and over. Furthermore, Legendary or Shiny Pokemon can only be sold once every 24 hours.

Finally, one should determine whether or not a trade should qualify as a Special Trade. While all Trades will incur some Stardust costs, Special Trades grant both players an extra amount of Candy upon completion. Furthermore, Pokemon acquired via Special Trade will have reduced power-up costs than usual.

3. Candy Requirement

Pokemon Go trading is an invaluable feature that fans have long requested, yet players should understand its limitations before engaging in any trades. Players must meet specific requirements to participate in transactions, including having trainers that are Friends within 100 meters and at a minimum level 10 need for trainers. Furthermore, there will be an age requirement to participate in trades: trainers must be at least 50 when participating. Trade processes can be done quickly by opening your Trainer Profile’s Friends tab and choosing who you wish to trade with. Once selected, click “Trade” and initiate your trade – on the right-hand side of your screen, you will see an estimate for how much Stardust will be required and any Candy you are due.

Once completed, trades result in changes to both CP and HP that fall within a range displayed before initiating them. Furthermore, particular Pokemon will evolve during this process: Generation one Pokemon such as Kadabra, Machoke, Haunter, and Graveler require 100 Candy for evolution while Boldore, Gurrdurr Karrablast Pumpkaboo Phantump Shelmet Boldore Boldurdurr Karrablast Pumpkaboo Phantump and Shelmet may require 200 Candy instead.

As well as changing its CP and HP when traded, other details about a Pokemon, such as its stats, also change when sold to prevent players from repeatedly hoarding powerful creatures for trading to increase their power levels through trades. Furthermore, particular mythical creatures cannot be traded at all.

Pokestops now dispense Pokemon candy, providing another means of trading Pokemon for more candy. But for maximum returns on Candy farming, catch high-level Pokemon, as they can be exchanged for double the usual amounts when defeated in combat – their higher CP means more Candy will drop when defeated! Boost friendship levels by giving gifts from real-world locations which map to item dispensaries within the game!

4. Special Trades

Trading has always been an integral component of Pokemon games, yet it was noticeably absent in its mobile version upon its initial release. Nearly two years after Pokemon Go debuted, support for this feature was finally introduced, enabling trainers to trade collected monsters with other players and exchange them at will. While using the system should be simple enough for most, players must know specific key considerations before trading.

Pokemon Go requires two players to be within 40 kilometers of each other to trade; otherwise, they’ll find it difficult and awkward to locate each other in person. Trading between trainers can be done via the Friends list by tapping their face, and if a trade doesn’t happen due to too far a separation, it will tell them so with an error message, and they can try again later.

Trading works by allowing each player to select one Pokemon to give away. When trading occurs, all three stats of that Pokemon – its CP, HP, and stats are rerolled for trade to balance out high-leveled trainers giving better monsters to lower-leveled trainers. Each time an item is traded off between trainers, Candy will also be earned faster if its origin location changes significantly.

One advantage of trading is its relationship-driven nature: your friendship level with another trainer can affect how much it costs to complete a trade transaction. According to Niantic, Special Trades may cost up to 1,000,000 Stardust, but with Best Friends, this fee drops to 800.

Unique Trades may not always be available and can only be completed once every 24 hours. This may prove frustrating for players looking to fill their Pokedex, while it seems counterintuitive for Niantic to limit this staple of Pokemon games for generations. Luckily, players may occasionally find exceptions by following official Twitter and website announcements for new events in Pokemon GO.
