Scripture should be treated as an opportunity and gift from your Heavenly Father, making your goal to get closer to Him and discover his incredible plan for your life.

1. Do Not Be Afraid

If fear and anxiety have you feeling helpless, turn them over to God. He promises comfort when you bring it all to Him; He’s good and faithful!

Bible passages contain numerous references to fear. Let’s consider just a few here.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 states, “Replace anxiety with faith and joy, for God is your source.”

Jeremiah 33:1-13 – When King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon sent his army against Jerusalem, Jeremiah warned them not to fear for they were doomed but that God would rebuild and restore it; He would also protect those who remain humble and righteous.

Psalm 91:9-10 – Those who fear God won’t fear; instead, they’ll have peace and confidence in him as their source. He will become their strength as they live their lives, knowing his hand is upon them.

Sirach 34:16 – Fearing God is pure and everlasting; therefore, faithful people shall honor and obey his commandments without being shaken by fear from enemies or by reproach from sinners.

2. Do Not Be Afraid to Ask

Memorizing several Bible verses that remind us of prayer’s power, of our duties to others, and Jesus Christ can serve as a helpful way of connecting with Him throughout our day and providing strength and comfort during times of distress. Furthermore, memorizing Bible verses may serve as an excellent opportunity to share God’s message with friends and family members!

The Bible is filled with stories of miracles. From lepers being healed, blind eyes being opened, and dead being raised again to lepers receiving salvation, we read of these incredible events taking place throughout Scripture. But sometimes it can seem that miracles no longer happen: mountains don’t move, and food isn’t falling from heaven anymore – yet, God still answers prayers big or small and has good things planned for each person (Joel 2:23)

At a time when many are struggling, it’s essential to remember that we don’t need to face life alone. One great way we can show our love for Jesus is by caring for each other and being there for one another – something many Bible verses call upon us to do by calling on us “to bear each other’s burdens.”

No one can do everything alone, and sometimes, we require assistance from other Christians. Be it financial assistance, spiritual guidance, or physical aid when needed, don’t be shy about reaching out! God promises not to leave us alone, and He will provide for all of our needs!

3. Do Not Be Afraid to Trust

In this verse, the Lord encourages Judah’s people to trust exclusively in Him for salvation, warning of its dire repercussions if they choose instead to fear man instead of turning toward their Creator for comfort and guidance. If we trust in and yield ourselves up to God more freely, we may struggle less with fear.

Annette Baier states that “relying without fear of betrayal (or at least let down) is not trust; people who depend on one another without being vulnerable to betrayal do not actually trust each other.” While we rely on alarm clocks as reliable instruments, their breaking or stopping working could still leave us disappointed; yet an alarm clock cannot betray us since its function requires our dependence.

Many times, we distrust our gut and intuition. We have been taught to doubt that our inner world can be trusted, either due to messages we receive throughout life from people we care for or because of life experiences that leave a mark that makes trust difficult.

4. Do Not Be Afraid to Ask for Help

Asking for help can be challenging because we may believe it demonstrates weakness; however, it’s essential to remember that seeking assistance does not constitute weakness but instead shows courage and humility. In fact, asking for aid can actually make us stronger by showing us we don’t have to carry everything alone and can gain support in various forms, such as advice/guidance from others, resource-sharing opportunities, or emotional/physical support from them.

By not seeking help, we deny ourselves an opportunity to receive the assistance we require for recovery. By not seeking support, we may end up feeling isolated and unsupported, which could lead to relapse and other severe consequences in the future.

By acknowledging our vulnerabilities and seeking assistance, we can begin to take back control of our lives and focus on what’s truly important in life. By reaching out for help, we can regain a sense of self-worth and confidence – essential steps towards reaching recovery goals.

5. Do Not Be Afraid to Ask for Help

When we feel burdened by life’s obligations, it’s essential to remember that we don’t need to carry them alone. Reaching out and asking for assistance from others is okay, and there are people out there willing to lend a helping hand in whatever form that takes. Sometimes, help could come through an email, while at other times, face-to-face support or coaching might be required – no matter the form it takes, reaching out is always welcome and necessary!

By leaning into our support systems more frequently, we will become more empowered. Although it can be challenging to open up about how we’re feeling with others at first, eventually, relationships will form, and ultimately, opening up can become more accessible. Being vulnerable may feel vulnerable, but it is not a weakness – exercise, positive affirmations, or journaling can all help increase confidence levels, so it becomes easier to step into those spaces when we need support.

At some point in our lives, all of us require assistance, both from others and from ourselves. God has blessed us immensely, and one way of showing our thanks is by sharing them with those less fortunate – such as sharing a smile or offering assistance when someone needs help.

These Bible verses about asking for help can provide comfort and assurance during times of hardship, reminding us not to bear our suffering alone.
